The Cherokee County Arts Council (CCAC) is a community organization dedicated to promoting awareness for and access to the arts in Cherokee County, North Carolina. We are committed to working with county members as well as other non-profit organizations and businesses to further our mission. The mission is deliberately broad, as is the term “art.” What does that mean? To us, there is no limit. It can include performing arts such as music, theater and dance; visual arts like painting and sculpture and hands-on activities such as music lessons or time at the potters wheel.
The Cherokee County Arts Council began in January 2010, was incorporated in April 2010, and received non-profit status in March 2011. The Arts Council has spent the last few years forming partnerships with local businesses and organizations and creating many different arts-based initiatives for Cherokee County, North Carolina. We are dedicated to promoting the wide variety of arts that already exist in our county and region, as well as bringing in culturally distinct forms of art and music.
