Megan Jean & Byrne Klay are an acoustic duo working in roots, folk, and Americana. Their live shows lean on their vocal blend and a lot of road experience.
They have played the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage and been featured on PBS's More Than the Music and NPR's Mountain Stage. They have opened for Shovels and Rope, Amythyst Kiah, Randall Bramblett, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, and 10,000 Maniacs.
Megan Jean got her start in New York City's East Village while studying theatre at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, including a residency at CBGB's. She and Byrne Klay later co-founded the band KFB, which has released several self-produced albums and played more than 2,000 shows around the country. Her vocals on "Barnburnin'" with Gangstagrass reached #5 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart.
The two also co-lead Megan Jean's Secret Family, whose 2024 debut album PLOT was supported by a Maryland State Arts Council Creativity Grant.
Come grab a seat at the Center Gallery on July 18 for an evening of acoustic music.
