Center Gallery Exhibit
the CCAC presents
Kyle Cottier
The Cherokee County Arts Council is pleased to present [[[holdingpattern]]], a June exhibition featuring the work of Kyle Cottier, an interdisciplinary artist based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Cottier’s work brings together sculpture, installation, photography, basketry, and woodworking. Their sculptural forms are built through the accumulation of many small parts, often woven or assembled into larger structures that feel both fragile and resilient. These works explore transformation, repair, survival, memory, and the blurred boundaries between the natural, constructed, and digital worlds.
Many of Cottier’s forms are suspended, latticed, or vessel-like. They hold open space as part of the work itself, asking viewers to consider what is present, what is absent, and what is held together through process, labor, and care.
Cottier holds an MFA in Sculpture from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a BFA from the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Their work has been exhibited nationally and has received recognition from the International Sculpture Center.
Join us for the opening reception on Friday, June 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the CCAC Center Gallery.
